Call me crazy, but I just ordered more eggs!!!

It's official, this chicken habit makes you lose all of your brain cells!!

I just bought Cuckoo Marans hatching eggs, and the best excuse I can come up with is. . ."I have a broody hen!"

If even one of them hatch, I am going to have to add on to my coop/run! On top of that it's 105 degrees here today and getting hotter by the day. Oh, and did I forget to mention that I have fertile eggs of my own??? I think my DH is in the bedroom right now filling out divorce papers!!!

Somebody help me!!!!!

heheheheheh i did the same! My wife wants no more chickens...i ordered another 12 eggs! This is a disease i tell you!

Yeah, I know. It's like going to a bar and asking the drunks to help you not to take a drink!!!

I am very excited about my eggs, though. Hopefully they will ship ok and I'll get a decent hatch rate.

I'm letting my broody sit on a couple of eggs until the Marans arrive, then I'll switch them out.

so i have 13 (thanks napalongtails) bearded silkie eggs in the bator and 12 buff polish standards coming from rob which are in the post as we speak!

Totally awesome..me and my boy ( 6--> William) are having the best time with this all.

Oooh, that sounds good. Looks like you're going to have your hands full.

I'll bet your son is a lot of help raising the little ones - I know my daughters are (ages 16 and 18 - yikes, how did they get so old!!)

I'm gonna head out after while and start digging post holes for my coop/run addition. I think I can get one hole a night done before I pass out from the heat!!

This chicken thing is kind of addictive, I only wanted to try and hatch about 6 eggs, I ended up with 21 eggs. Now I'm looking for more. I have even started wearing a sign that says "Will work for chickens"

"aran" this is soooo weird. First of all I discovered by reading your posts that we are both waiting for silkie eggs to hatch only a day apart. Yours are due on the 11th and mine on the 12th.
By candling mine I can see that out of those 11 only two (white silkies) are doing well. It doesn't look like any of the splash silkie eggs are viable. So I just ordered 6 splash silkie eggs and 6 blue silkie eggs yesterday! The first batch came from CA, these next 12 eggs are closer to me coming from MI. So hopefully that will help. I don't know.
Yes, it is an addiction and I'm absolutely hooked!!! As a matter of fact I was reading my local paper last night and saw an ad from someone in my town selling laying hens. I tried to reach the seller by phone today but he/she must have been out and about for the holiday so I can't wait to possibly speak with him/her tomorrow to see what they got. I've been convincing myself that getting some hens from this seller would be a good and practical thing because my girls won't be old enough to lay eggs till this fall and I want fresh eggs now. LOL
Well there is the AA groups for alcoholics and for us chicken-holics there's BYC. Although with AA they help you stop your addiction. I believe we all encourage each other's habit here! LOL Maybe if I would stay away from the eggs and chicks forum that would curb my habit... DOUBT IT!!!
