I have 10 buff orpington hens, one year old. When they are in full laying mode, they usually lay 8-9 eggs/day. Right now, coming into spring, they're laying 5-7/day. When they are younger, their hormones are stronger and they will be more active laying.

Once mine started going, I was getting an egg every day from all my girls, for the first whole year. After their first year molt, they're not laying as much, but it's hard to tell who is laying how much, because we have a total of 11 girls, 5buffs (almost 2yrs old)and 6 Black Austrolorps(almost 1), and we're getting 7 or 8/day. Another thing I have to look at is the season. We're just moving into more daylight hours, so I've a feeling as we get more sun, I'll get more eggs.
