Calling all Colloidal Silver users

I am always keenly interested in any new herbal or over the counter treatment that is effective.

So, when my daughter mentioned someone had recommended Collodial Silver, I did some research as we were both a little concerned about using any heavy metal. (Human bodies and heavy metal generally is not a good combination.)

This is some of the research I did on it. I came to the personal decision that I will pass on it.

Did you notice the link in my first post.
That is the only site "good" site I have come across so far.
I am all about medical study sites..not so much for the regular any body out there can write what ever they want sites.

Thanks for sharing!
So you are not using a straight Silver C liquid like this:View attachment 1138790
...but a lotion type product.
Interesting.
I've never used the liquid. What I use is a clear gel. And the clearish losenges.

@Fields Mountain Farm Did you happen to read the link I posted?
What do you think of it?
Yes, I have read others as well, both pro and against. IMO, when used in moderation and following the directions for the kind you use its safe and beneficial. I've never seen anyone personally who has turned blue, not that it can't happen but youd probably have to use large amounts daily. Again just my opinion.

Ah...no I hadn't gone into it but shot you what I had found per your questions....sorry...we both found the same article and similar results.

I too could find nothing positive about Collodial Silver that wasn't attached to somebody trying to sell it.

All the medical sites I went to showed it was not a good idea.

I suspicion the products many people use are so low in silver that the risk is low for build up, but the body doesn't clear heavy metal. So, over time, it would have to begin to build up to toxic levels.

Wish it was a beneficial product as OTC antibiotics are gone (and I understand why). But with veterinarian, and medical, care so dang expensive any more, l am keen to have an herbalists cupboard...but of only things that actually work and aren't equally toxic.

Have been unable to research myself so far, but just be aware that applying anything to the outside of you body will be absorbed into the body. Like medication patches. No real opinion until I can research, just wanted everyone to know that if they don't want to take it orally, you may want to reconsider applying it to you or your chicken's body. Example is, if you take Benedryl by mouth, you do not want to apply a topical agent that contains Benedryl for 4-6 hours after you have taken the oral Benedryl, as it could cause an overdose of Benedryl. I do want to check this out, but may not be able until tomorrow. Thanks for bring this up, one can never know enough.

I use the colloidal silver liquid all the time!!! During cold and flue season I keep it in a spray bottle and spray my nose/throat/mouth. Keeps me from getting the crud.

I also put it on any wound I think could get infected- recently I had to get a big chunk (splinter from hell) of wood cut out of my buttock (no not kidding) and instead of taking oral antibiotics I just sprayed it down with silver and it healed up perfectly.

Works great for burns, scrapes, anything you would put neosproin on.

:)

I cannot speak for colloidal silver, but I have used non-colloidal silver personally, with my patients and pets for 6 years with amazing results. Let me also preface this by saying I did not read the entire link you provided; because when I got to the part where it said "no medical studies have been done on silver" I was instantly turned off. That is inaccurate; there have been plenty of studies done in the antibiotic and antimicrobial benefits of silver! In fact, it is used by hospitals in the sterilization of surgical tools.

The science behind silver is it starves bacteria and virus cells of oxygen, therefore they cannot reproduce. Back when the bubonic plague hit Europe, the upper class, Kings & Queens, survived the plague and it was later discovered the upper class survived because they were ingesting silver particles through the silverware and silver cups they were using.

I am a chiropractor and naturopath. I use and sell a product called Smart Silver by the company Desbio (Deseret Biologics). It is a non-colloidal silver, which is different because of the way it is manufactured. There are no negative effects with a non-colloidal silver. You cannot turn blue and you cannot die from it. You won't get heavy metal toxicity from it. I (and my patients) take it orally to treat and prevent sickness, and can be used topically for healing cuts and burns. It is only available through health care professionals. I think their website can only be used by healthcare professionals as well, so here is a copy of the product description from their website: "Smart Silver is an engineered nanoparticle, not a colloidal silver. It is manufactured using 10,000 volts of current, energizing the entire waterbase, enabling Smart Silver to work as a catalyst to kill bacteria as it draws energy from its environment and emits energy at wavelengths that are measured at 890 to 910 terahertz. This is the same frequency at which germicidal ultraviolet light resonates and is deadly to bacteria. Therefore, Smart Silver, due to the patented revolutionary process of its manufacture, does not deal with bacteria on merely a chemical level, as do colloidal silvers, but also works on a measurable energetic level. Liquid is is 10 ppm and gel is 24 ppm."

If I have time this evening I will try to link some studies to this thread. Feel free to ask me any questions; hopefully I will be able to answer them!
