How did you guys train your dog not to attack your chickens?

When we first got chickens we let Archie look at them and corrected him to sit but he's bright and we just have to say Ah ah ah, and he knows. It didn't the take long and he appointed himself their guardian. He's lie in the garden and they sit on him.

This time as soon as we put them into brooder we let Archie look at them just before. Now I can't go to interact with my chicks and he wants to be with me. He takes visitors to see them and he either sits or sleeps next to them all the time. I think he likes his new pets

This is Scrappy, a Red Bone Coon Hound. He got his name from my grandkids and the dog I had before (who got too old) - Scooby Do. Scooby was sort of similar, in size and color, but he was a Chocolate Lab/Chessie cross. Scrappy Do is a little redder, but Scooby had a bit of Chessie wave in his hair.

Scrappy was never taught to be a real coon hunter who knows to just tree coons, he'll tree anything that'll go up a tree - he don't care if it's a cat, squirrel, possom, or coon, he puts his feet on the tree and sounds his alarm. His best friends are chickens, they'll roost on him while he naps.
