Calling All Duns

I would be very interested in seeing any and all pics of dun birds.. I have Sumatras in dun, black and splash and have been given some interesting info on genetics with reguard to the colors I have. Something I was told about the mix of color and am now very interested in seeing pics of are the khaki ( dunxdun) and Platinum (bluexdun) Please! Any more info and lots of pic would be Great!!

I dont have any pics of our solid dun birds. I also wanted to say that when we crossed our duns with blues we got dun. I also know other people that have crossed dun with blue and got the same results. As you probably know both dun and blue are diluters.

Technically, that would still be crossing dun to blue. You'd probably still get dun.

Is the combination dun AND blue at least a little lighter in color?

Platinum. I like the sound of that but where did it come from?
There is hardly confirmation that dun is ever combined with blue.

Both colors are basically the same type gene, that is, they are both co-dominant.

A blue with 2 copies is called splash
A dun with 2 copies is called khaki.
I think if a bird has one of each, they call that platinum.

I have had some phoenix in dun red and dun gold before, but haven't seen it in Sumatras yet. Looks nice.

ok, here is the theory.
if you cross a blue to a dun, each bird having only one copy of his/her dilutor, the offspring may come black, dun, blue, or platinum.
But if you breed a blue splash to a khaki, you will get all platinums, because every chick will get one copy of the dilutor from each parent.
does that make sense?
