CALLING ALL JEWELRY MAKERS! "Bead Swap" Sign Ups CLOSED

I'm with you ^ I think it sounds tedious lol. But stuff like that always turns out beautiful. I wish I had the patience and time to learn how to weave pinestraw baskets!

Loomwork is probably the easiest to learn really. Quillwork...well if you do not mind flattening the quills with your teeth and avoiding the barbed ends when you fold and sew them....not too difficult if you graph your design first but it is heck on the lips hahahahaha

Here are some examples for you....

This is the stuff I love doing, it relaxes me because I can absorb myself into it and forget the day's troubles and so forth....

This is my husband's breechclout for his traditional dance regalia...the eagle is holding a drumstick in one talon and a pipe in the other

And this project is nearly finished ahem I started it almost 2 years ago now dang it but put it aside when I moved and still have not found all the beads I need to finish the project....this was beaded from a picture Speckledhen sent me of her beloved Blue Orp roo, Suede whom I have adopted as mine even though he lives with her. hahahahahaha

he is going to be made into a shield adorned with his own molted sickle feathers along with a sickle feather of my beloved Thor who was Suede's son. So, Speckledhen will always have Suede with her even after he passes, he is 4 and a half years old now and such a sweetheart of a boy.

Wow!! Cetawin you are very talented. Its difficult to make an original design and that roo is quite impressive.

My "swap" package is in the mail today--beads of wood, stone, silver squares, earring backs, beading string, eye pins. Have fun!

OMG in the mail already? I just barely got through picking through one drawer of beads. Hahahaha

Thank you all...I have been heading since I was a little girl. I usually keep a bead count but with heading Suede, the roo, I lost count at somewhere or cannot remember now but somewhere around 11,000 or 17,000 beads. Was supposed to be a small framable piece but he looked better bigger sooooo. LOL

I am hoping this is a good chance for me to 'destash' some stuff. I have quite a bit I need to finish going through. I got a little done yesterday, nothing today. Probably won't be able to go through more until Sunday. And will do that one drawer at a time while on BYC.
