I'm sure with eggs filling the chamber these temps would be even closer. What are you using to measure the Humidity?

my built in usually reads 99.5 F for what its worth - works perfectly.

Something about the way the Springfields work makes them read 99.1 in a properly heated Brinsea Eco. I've heard this from a bunch of people - that's the temperature where my Springfield sits the whole time. I've got its fourth consecutive hatch in there and it hasn't budged off that temperature in weeks.

Okay, I'll play.

I got my Ova Easy 190 today, and wow it's big! It's large dorm fridge sized. For the money I was going to spend on something reliable, I figured, I'd go for it! Anyone else have one of the cabinets? I got the free humidity pump, and then another 10% off from being a facebook friend.

It's holding steady already. Only took 20 minutes to warm up to 99.6. I moved the remaining eggs in the hovabator over to it shortly after it arrived. I'm setting a few more on Thursday.

The humidity pump seems to be working, but is really loud, so I'm going to call for a replacement tomorrow. So far so good!

I set about 20 eggs on Jan 1 in the hovabator, so they got a little head start, but they're in the Brinsea now. Primarily Seramas.

Coronation Sussex and BBS bantam Ameraucanas come tomorrow!

I would trust the Brinsea thermometer. Mine is running low but that is my fault, though it is reading 99.5. I know it is low because of the huge delay in my New Years Hatch....I have chicks still hatching from New Years! I must have not put the thermometer in the correct spot the last time I cleaned it out. I only need to turn the temp knob about a quarter turn to increase/decrease the temp by 1/2 degree. When they start to grow they will start to create there own heat and raise the temp. Only make tiny adjustments to temperature. I bought the Brinsea Spot temp probe and it should be here in the next day or two. I can't wait to see what it was actually running at. I will take it apart again, clean and adjust the thermometer position so it reads the correct temp again. I have 3 dozen eggs I need to fit in there so I am mapping out my stacking arrainment...might have to have another auction with the spares

I got my 10 Heritage Delaware eggs from Bargain & my 16 Light Sussex eggs from Cedar Creek Lofts this morning & both batches arrived great. These folks did some great packin. I set the 16 Light Sussex in my Brinsea 20 & the 10 Heritage Delawares in my buddys Hova-Bator 1602N at 12:00 noon today. I have the temp on both stabalized at 99.5 & the humidity is 41% in the Brinsea & 45% in the Hova-Bator. I am usin this Hygrometer http://www.harborfreight.com/thermo-hygrometer-with-clock-96417.html in both of them. This is my first time doin this so keep your fingers crossed, lol.

I took apart the entire incubator vacuumed the top out and cleaned the bottom with vinegar. I reassembled it and adjusted the thermometer position. The Brinsea spot check is reading 99.5 degrees. I don't bother checking the humidity as long as the reservoirs have water in them it's good....I have done a ton of hatches and the humidity always was between 30-40% when they have water in them. They hygrometer took up possible egg space

so I stopped using it about a year ago. It takes about 5 days in my house to evaporate most of the water. The vent is a tad less that half open.

So I set my eggs at 8:00pm today. I put 35 in my Brinsea Eco...yep that's right 35. I would have put in a couple more but I ran out of eggs. I will probably toss in a couple more tomorrow depending what get's laid.

Here's what went in...

11 Lavender Wheaten Ameraucana Project eggs
16 Lavender/Split Lavender eggs (shipped)
4 White Ameraucana
2 First generation Olive Eggers
2 Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana (these were laid over 2 weeks ago and they haven't laid since...SLACKERS!)

So here was my stacking arrangement for this batch.

A slow tip test to see if anything moves. If an egg moves I place a wad of wax paper between it and the top of the incubator.

All secure, up on the turner it goes..close the closet door and forget about it for 5 days. I refill the reservoir every 5 days. I may peek in on it to make sure the temp is where I want it. All those little eggs will start to generate their own heat.

I will candle these next Thursday night.
