Calling all teenagers

I also have many coming projects in the Spring. Replace the back wall on the main chicken coop because it rotted, move the Seramas back into their coop and hopefully decorate it, much out the chicken pen, and probably some other things I am forgetting.
I have tons of things that need to be done to the chicken stuff. My new coop that we got last year which we hadn't been able to paint so no One was put in it got blown over a bit before we started getting lots of snow so in the spring we have to fix it and put it back on its feet and then paint it and do whatever else needs to be done and then we'd finally be able to get the chickens in it and the ducks will stay in the current coop. The coop that is being used right now needs lots of fixes too. I am really hoping we'll be able to get lots of stuff for my flock done this year.

Wishing everyone luck with their coops and their flocks and pets!

I have to clean the chicken coop out. And repaint/weatherproof their ramp again.
I clean my coop every couple weeks, but in the spring I will do a big cleaning and put down some Saturday Lime to hopefully help with their leg mites. Since my coop is about 7 years old now, the back nest box door and everything under it rotted so we need to replace that too.

When I move my Seramas back into the small coop, I will not paint it because I like the old barn color, but I do want to add frames around the windows and those will probably be white.

I was worried about mold and stuff on mine before we paint were going to use a mold killer mold preventing cleaner to make sure mold won't be an issue (hopefully). The coop came from someone else and they had it sitting for a while and it has a slight mildew smell to it.
I just don't really know how safe the stuff my dad got would be to use on a chicken coop and the material it's made of and the way it's built might make it hard to clean it. Before it blew down we cleaned the floor with vinegar water once.

Thanks, hope your coop works out!

I do it once a year. But add bedding every few weeks. I like the deep litter method because as soon as it composts we either burn it or use it in our garden.

The deep litter method doesn't really work for me. They poop a lot, and they will just kick the bedding and mix it up so it is basically always dirty.
