I think my brahma is ready to go broody! Although i cant legally keep more chickens i can hatch some for a friend!

What is she acting like? Have you ever had a hen go broody before?

She is in the nesting box from around 9 in the morning till 3 pm then she goes outside eats/drinks. Then goes back in until roost time, which then she goes and roosts. This has been going on for a week. She actually hides 1 - 2 eggs everytime. I noticed my Orpington doing this before her. I have never had a full broody. I did have my Orpington go broody for exactly 3 days. She was mean.

Yea, im not giving her eggs yet. Although i tried to see if she had any eggs under her in the box, and she bit my hand.

Do you mean separating the mama and babies fron the rest, or the babies from the mama?
