Mk so what’s a Chromebook and what’s a Linux?

so imagine the crappiest, cheapest, piece of junk computer you have ever seen and multiply that by around 100 or so

And they're worse than my 2012 ones. I have two and they both have upgradable RAM and storage and can run Linux fairly well.

New ones don't. They have a better CPU but worse upgradability.

Well, if you owned the device you could do it, and you did that, you could run Linux and do whatever you want so long as it would run on Linux.

You can't do it on a school chrombook as far as I'm concerned.

If you have one that isn't then you'll need to know the model number and stuff.
