My poor Nana uses the hunt-and-peck technique for typing on her computer, and she also sits in a chair at a angle since she has a table right in front of the desk her computer is on. Ouch.

My uncle got her a iPhone pretty early on so she knows how to do most things on there that she needs (camera, texting, calling).

those are my hip grandparents my other grandparents still use flip phones, have a house phone with a cord, and their computer they learned how to play games from my aunt and that’s what they do. They need help figuring out how to use a remote. My grandmother was shocked when I showed her Netflix and the no commercials. She still prefers black and white movies.

Yep. I just never bothered with stuff like that since I am not a good programmer. My tech nerd knowledge leans on the side of repairing stuff.

(Hence my insistence on repairability and longevity).

Ah, I see. I live with and am marrying computer nerd people. Programmers, tinkerers.

It’s still really neat that you can do that stuff. You talk about things I didn’t even know existed. Heck, my mom didn’t know existed when I brought up the things you talked about.

I can type without looking at the keyboard too. Just a bit slow though.

I can type pretty good on phone two with two thumbs. My Mom still uses the One Index Finger Hunt-and-Peck Phone Typing method.

Oh my gosh, so does my mom and it drives me nuts.
