Do you buy starter cultures or do you buy fresh yogurt from a farm to start yours?

We buy yoghurt with live cultures. Is there a difference??

I heard that yogurt cultures from the bag don't work well, Store bought yogurt works not at all, and yogurt from the farm is the best but idk fully cause I haven't tried yet

Your set up sounds like what I want... self sufficient!

It’s nice most of the time! We sell most of what we get, including our pork and chicken. It’s nice because for example it’s funding our vacation for thanksgiving, but sometimes it’s frustrating when we get two dozen eggs a day and can’t have any for breakfast because they are sold or spoken for.

Had a feeling... Storebought is never good because of all of the additives and the whole process really kills anything good in it

Not yet!! We plan on getting cows next year or the year after. We have a lot of just pasturing acres, and my dad works in construction, so he gets a lot of free material. We’ve already started getting their setup ready.
