Calling all Vegetable gardeners...cutworm collars for tomatoes?

Does everyone make cutworm collars for their tomato and pepper plants? We planted our garden today, but forgot to do the "collars" should we still put them on? Thanks. (we just use 2-in pieces of newspaper.)

I do, sometimes I use plastic butter tube and cut the bottoms off, other times I use tin cans and then throw them away at the end of the year. I would still try to put something down.

Slip a toilet paper tube over them.

We use a popsical stic on each side of the plant. And yes, I would put them in.

Aluminum foil works too. I would still put them on if those critters are a problem in your area.
