I need a cricket trap! :gig
The Ducks love them too, but I'm not very good at catching them.

I get 1,000 3/4" banded crickets from Josh's Frogs for $16 to supplement the brown crickets I catch in the basement. If the temperature is 85°F or below they guarantee live delivery via standard shipping methods.

Got the nest box mounted to the poop table, I think it will work.

I don't really see crickets much, but when I mow the lawn it stirs up grasshoppers. One hen is bold enuf to come really close and she gets so close I have to stop the mower repeatedly. She really likes it when I am mowing around an increasingly smaller area, and the grasshoppers naturally go into that shrinking center ...bonanza for Speckles! That's our rodeo here. One chicken, a lawnmower, and a dozen grasshoppers.

Pig Pen is a worm hound, if I pick up the pitch fork she keeps a keen eye on me. If I walk toward the compost bins she is right there. As soon as a lid comes up she is inside and is not afraid of me turning the compost with the pitch fork. I can slid it under her feet and she won't move off of it. She won't come out until I start to close the lid. Sometime Monique joins her and that makes it tough to turn the compost.

:love <—— I don’t do that often but wow what a great picture... plus I saw those the other day while helping shuffle hay equipment, but I didn’t have time to stop and figure em out.
I could have just called it "roadside weeds" but I love these purple flowers....saw many of them today on a drive to KS....this single one is across the road from our house.

no doubt about it Katy did... I’m porch sitting, and she’s telling me all about right now ;)

Hope all of you Missouri folks got to enjoy the cooler weather today!

In other news...I don’t recall caladiums blooming in the past... but this year we have this:
