calling any one from missouri

I need to find the specs for their house that's not an ad or other crumb...

JT

I think I have plans for this one drawn up if you’re interested.... I’ll look and post something later if I find it...

It’s fun to see them go in and out like little cuckoo birds...although I never did manage to get a good picture of them in action this year

and you measure how hot and/or long the day was by how many Pineapple Whips you got.....such as 'that was a 3 Pineapple Whip' day....
That would've been nice. :gig
One was all I ever remember getting.
My dad sells grain bins and metal buildings and has always set up a concept building at the farm show. So when I say all day .. It was literally all day. Sitting there in the heat listening to grown ups talk business. No fun when your a kid.
It got a little more entertaining when I got old enough to pick up on some of the dumb things people would ask/say. And could at least walk around by myself . .and buy my own pineapple whip.
I may have had a two whip day once but I'll never tell.

So this year they moved the Farm Show to spring and it had rained so much no one could park there and had to take a shuttle! I wonder what the turnout was. We certainly didn't go. I bet they'll go back to summers.

They are so fast!
I never got a decent pic of mine this year either. I'm not positive this one was a Carolina wren. . maybe just a ninja wren.(That's what we call the tiny ones)

They always nest in something I have out on the front porch. I give them a house 3 years ago and they would fill it with sticks. . but still insisted in nesting in something else.
This year they finally used it!
I learned because of that . .what the deal is. Males make multiple nests and the female picks the one she likes best. :)

Ya I know! I was so happy my dad didn't have to go sit in the heat. And then that happened. :th

I was wondering about that general design, so much you find on the net is just a copy of some poor design, or a poor design trying to sell you something then there is pinterest... but don't get me started on that place.

The general dimensions would be great to have, but seeing where this pair nested on top of a 4x4 post... I wonder if you need more than a flat spot with a roof if outdoors?

Ninja wrens, lol

I think you’re talking about ‘house wrens’ ... luckily we don’t have these here at the house... they are known for destroying blue birds nests... so they can have the box...

... the ‘fake’ nest thing is kinda a pain with the Carolina wrens as he fills some of my other houses with sticks in the spring and then they never use them...

I just wait till I figure out where they are and then take all of that out... then the chickadees or tufted titmouse’s move in...
