but so glad it will get up to 40 later today.....

I live in KCMO and have raised chickens for 5 years; added 4 ducks this year.
I've got Road Island Reds, Barred Rock, an Americana, and White Leghorn.
Ducks are Rouen.

My Organic feed guy (troque farms) isn't restocking for the winter so does anyone have a source in this area?

Pig Pen seems to be doing a bit better today, I've seen her stretch the right side leg and wing and she is putting a bit more weight on it. I had to make a royal feed tray for water, dried mealworms and mash as she kept kicking shavings into the bowls somehow.

Tried to get a photo of her right leg but not yet this is the only one I have so far.

Hi and welcome to the thread! Unfortunately, I live about an hour away from St. Louis, so I don't have any resources to suggest. Hopefully someone closer to you will chime in!

Good morning! It's 27º here....funny what having single digit or even temps in teens does to you, it makes 27 seem balmy. I went out without gloves and thought nothing of it.
My chickens cocked their heads when they saw me for the first time after I returned. They still look surprised to see me. DH took very good care of them. My cockerel, Beldar is still very well behaved , now 6 months old. I am hoping he's a keeper! So far, so good!

I raised the blanket up on the sick bay this morning as the hens had finally come out from under the coop and Pig Pen started clucking at the other hens. When I got done with the morning chores in the chicken yard I noticed that she was walking much better today, still had a slight limp but much better than yesterday. I opened the cage door and she was coming out and did not take no for an answer. So I carried her to the chicken yard and she acted normal with a tiny limp.
