Hey Lesa, I am on Pearidge on V highway just a couple miles south of Hartville!! Welcome. I have some roosters for you if you are interested. LOL

I am the proud mamma of 32 bouncing baby cornish crosses. They all arrived happy and healthy. But man do they stink. I have always put new babies in the basement until they feather out but these guys are moving to the shop today. No clue as to why they stink so much more. It's the droppings that stink. Funny, they look just like any other fluffy, cute chicks. I am curious to see them start growing.

As for egg prices, I sell them for $1.50 per dozen also. I know at the local farmer's market they get up to $3.00 a dozen. I sell them mostly to my colleagues. I have an overabundance right now. Probably about 13 dozen in my fridge. But my girls just started laying a few months ago (buchered the older ones) so they are in high gear. I typically get about 12 or so a day. We could down size but no way I could choose who to get rid of. They last forever in the fridge so I am not worried. Just don't try to make a profit off of eggs. We do it for the love of the birds.

Gorgeous weekend ahead. Time to put the flower pots and hummingbird feeders away for the winter. Chickens will love all the time out in the yard too. Have a great weekend.

Missy

I'll be there too, hovering anxiously over my 4 porcelain d'uccles. First timer, I'm sure EVERYONE will gather that
