No rain close to me... Laura seems to be shrinking a bit.



Veronica went nuts trying to find just the right spot to lay and egg today and after it was all said and done no egg could be found anywhere. I guess it's newbee jitters. I had to show her where the nest box was and she went in and out many times then sat in the corner. She acted like she had laid an egg tossing chips and straw on her back and heading to the feed to get a craw full.

We barely got enough to wet the ground. I still had to water my maters.
I got in there to tie up some of the vines that were hanging over and I almost stepped on this little guy..

Lemme tell ya..
My heart skipped a couple of beats until I realized it was just a frog.
The first thing that came to mind when I first saw it was @OhZark Biddies copperhead.

we got a smidge of rain over night.... but that was it ...

we could use some though... it’s starting to look like August around here

Uh huh. They wuz gettin buzzy.
That one took off like a bolt of lightening when they were done!

Ha! I think those frogs enjoy scaring people.

me and the cats have been a little jumpy since the snake incident too...

George was approaching the tool cabinet extra cautiously last night, looking underneath it... in case there was another monster under there

I tried to explain to him that the snake probably only came in because his momma drags in every rodent she catches ... and so he should eat his rodents outside when he gets old enough to catch his own... he responded by attacking my boot laces... so I’m not sure the point really sunk in

What is this plant?
So in the midst of the surprise lilies, I had planted a bunch of nasturtiums, which the cat dug around and pushed them all together in one mass. Daily watering brought this big surprise plant, what it is called we don't know. We have seen them flowering elsewhere. Is it from a bulb? How did it get here?? I didn't plant it and have never seen these here before...
