I found a source for some good firewood today and got a truck load and have it stacked up in the wood bin, going for another load tomorrow. Kinda strange to find a good source for firewood on craigslist usually it's slab wood, seasoned (punky) or something else. Next year I need to be prepared better!

I'm glad you got stocked up it's looking like you're going to need it.

Too bad you don't live closer to me. We have a huge oak tree that was dropped last year and has been waiting for someone to need/want it. They would have to cut it up more though. Part of it is a 7 foot long tree trunk! We did finally get a friend to come haul away the other oak tree that was sectioned into about 25 3 foot wide sections of trunk.

I wished you lived closer to me with a free oak tree. I do play with some big ones from time to time...

We’re below zero this morning. -4º and snowing. The chickens won’t come out. I have two hens in the basement. One is a leghorn that had a torn comb. I think others did that to her. She was a mess, the coop was a mess so I brought her in about 4 days ago. The blood seems to be coming off her without me doing anything.
The other is my little Sebright, Moonshine because she seems to suffer in the cold.
The basement is about 50 maybe a little less. Very warm by their standards.
