Sunday night is supposed to be the worst. The forecast for here in Franklin Co. is 13º tomorrow night, 5º Sunday night and then 13º again on Monday night. Brrrrrrrr.

What a dramatic change we've had... It's been raining and now we are in a winter weather advisory! Yesterday was almost 60! Oh, and NO eggs yesterday.... WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

I have read a lot about a dry spell in November as far as eggs here on BYC. TG no one told my girls. I am getting a dozen a day. Good thing too- I am selling them like crazy. Too bad I will never get rich from selling eggs. Guess everyone is doing their holiday baking.

I have several breeds available. 8 weeks old and well feathered. White and brown egg layers, roosters and pullets. Ornamentals, standards, dual purpose and egg types. I'm in St. Louis county.

Left this morning for work and it was almost 50 degrees! That was at 3:30 this morning! When I got off at 3:30 it was a Balmy 23 degrees with a windchill of about -5! Put a tarp over the run and a piece of plywood to cover the west corner to block the wind! Called a meeting with the Roo and the girls and shut the coup door and put them in lockdown for the night and turned on the heat lamp if they wanted to get under it!

For their cold dinner treat they had Daddys leftover combination fried rice from Panda Wok complete with General Tso's sauce (They ate the peppers and all) Left over scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and spinach and cheese from my breakfast and a 3 lb coffee can of BOSS

Kissed their little chicken heads and told them goodnight!

Ernie

They have such a rough life LOL

Out of 14 girls I got 5 eggs yesterday and 5 eggs today

Let it snow-let it snow-let it snow. Gorgeous as long as you only look and don't have to go outside. My driveway has about 2 inches of snow, of course its blowing, so its hard to tell how much it has really snowed. I didn't close my girls in tonight because the wind was from the opposite direction. Made sure they had fresh water, food and corn to keep them busy. I'm sure it bothers us more than them.

Talked the chickies into coming out this afternoon. I had to open the house door to let them out because they refused to go in the penned area because there is too much snow. Silly birds. They only pecked aorund in the yard where there is very little snow. But it has not slowed the egg production down.
