calling any one from missouri

I never hung drywall and I don’t think my husband has either. Wish us luck!
Hanging sheetrock is not too hard just don't run the screws in too far and break the paper. Cutting the holes for the electrical boxes can be a bit fun. I use a couple of pieces of 1x4 or similar to push the top row up tight to the ceiling. I have them a bit longer than the bottom of the sheet and after getting the sheet in position kick the bottoms of the boards to push the sheet up tight if that makes any sense. Here is a pretty good guide for hanging sheetrock. If you have to hang sheetrock on the ceiling do it first and make a couple of T shaped stooges to hold the sheet up tight on the ceiling.

So cute!

My chickies are 5 weeks old now. It’s really hard to take a decent pic of them…all I get are fluffy butt shots. They still need supervision when out in the yard because they still fit through the fence. They are integrating slowly & nicely with the rest of the flock.

I had a grand idea that I would buy a pool float and sleep on it ( to be off the floor). I couldn’t find any of the plan old ones ( like when I was a kid). I bought one that I thought was similar but it turns out that the sides and “pillow” inflate but the bottom is just thin vinyl with holes it it to let the water in. 🙄🤣
I put my pillow in the middle and tried to sleep like that. Not the best night’s sleep I’ve ever gotten. 🤣

That's definitely not Glamping...

I’ve been in Poplar Bluff since Tuesday. Originally thought I would come down on Monday but errands took too long. We have working electrical outlets in 1 bedroom and the bathroom. The living room has outlets installed they just aren’t wired to the fuse box yet ( or I didn’t flip the right fuse, but I think I flipped them all)😁
I bought a small window AC and put it in the bedroom. I had a grand idea that I would buy a pool float and sleep on it ( to be off the floor). Went to Walmart today and both a twin size inflatable mattress. I hope it holds are all night!
I’ve almost got all of the new load of gravel spread out but it got so hot I had to stop. I burned all the old, bad, rotted wood that came off the house and was piling up in the backyard and I cleaned and organized the basement! I’m tired!
The guy building the basement stairs is going to start next Wednesday. It will be so nice not to have to walk around outside to get to the basement!
The kid that was doing our siding, soffit and facia hasn’t been here in 3 weeks. He was almost finished. 😡
In the meantime a storm tore one strip of facia off and flipped it up on the roof and about 8 to 10 pieces of soffit were out in the trees and yard. Oh, and he drove 3 long screws through the window frame of one window he installed so you can’t open the window. He was supposed to fix that too. 😞
We decided not to have him do the drywall. He just isn’t reliable enough. I never hung drywall and I don’t think my husband has either. Wish us luck! We will probably start that in 2 weeks or so. I know he wants to finish getting the outlets and lights and ceiling fans in and working.
The drywall hanging part isn’t so difficult, it’s the mudding/sanding part that takes talent. (It’s important for the mudder to sand some of their own work to learn that more mud is not necessarily better.) Also, if you will be hanging any ceiling drywall, a drywall lift is worth every penny (rent or buy).

Don't buy any sheetrock tools! I have all you need :) and your welcome to borrow them.
