Hey @jthornton I repourpoused my winter duck pond cover into a garden bed to plant wheat seed in so the dux can eat the sprouts kinda like what you do. They will love it if it grows!
I don't think I got enough Dirt in it though. The sprouts will have to get fairly tall before they can reach it. I'll see how it goes I may have to add more

I just used regular grass seed in my grass boxes.




I tried wheat grass once but it didn't do too well... but that might have been something I did wrong.

I have a run behind the run I call The Annex. I let the weeds grow, this time over the whole winter, and then let the flock in it to enjoy. The rest of the run is pretty bare as would be this area if they were allowed in every day…

I may throw some grass seed in too. My sis in law works for a seed company so i have the wheat seed.

Yep, it’s 29º this morning!

I only had a few of my braver warm weather plants outside already, these got covered with buckets. I don’t know if that’s enough. The rest of them are still inside getting leggy and impatient. Surely after tomorrow, they can go out….

We have a few tiny strawberry plants and I covered them with a moving blanket just to be sure.
