How are all those chicks doing?31 here. Booo. Luckily the only trees in the fruit orchard that are blooming are the peaches.
They are great! We lost the little Silkie with cross beak and was missing an eye, but I really didn't have much hope for that one. I got the remaining 37 in 2 pack and plays and they got maybe a week before it starts getting tight. I have 1 door to install and just a bit more siding to finish, then I can line the coop with plywood and make a temporary huge brooder out there for them. How are all those chicks doing?
If they are Premier 1 heat plates, they sell domed covers that work quite well.I'm going to have to make a top for my brooder plates when I raise more chicks, I hate how dirty they have gotten them.
If you want to check them out I have individual pictures on my flock threat.
