It won't get above freezing here until Monday...

I don't know if it's the red heat lamps in the coop or just being the new kids in the flock but every night I have to escort at least the two new hens and sometimes more into the coop after sundown before the automagic door closes.

I would like to move a few cameras from Coop Deux to new places but it's just too darn cold outside.

@shawluvsbirds you get a hundred pound tank yet?

No eggs the last 2 days. Only 2 the day before. Hauling buckets of water to the barn 4c a day... so exhausting. This polar freeze is not going well.
Looking forward to the double digits again this week! ️

Sweet Pea one of the two remaining RIR hens laid an egg today. The RIR's were born on 8/16/17 so those two are 6 years, 5 months old and going strong. The 5 Cinnamon Queen hens are 3 years, 8 months old. I got 3 eggs today!

No. It'll be a while before we get to that.

It has been foggy since yesterday morning! On a drive to Pittsburg, KS, we saw a massive flock of snow geese, almost hidden in the fog

Our 3rd bantam EE just laid her first egg!! and it’s white, not blue like the other 2. i realize EE’s can lay various colors, but never guessed white. The brown is a store bought egg for comparison
