Has anyone ever gone to Cackle Hatchery to the store front on a Friday or a Saturday? Do they have many chicks left over? I just need 1 or 2 buddies for my chick that may be hatching this Sunday. I know Cackle hatches on Monday and Wednesday. I've been there on a Thursday before, but didn't know how it would be on days after that as far as picking out a couple pullets. Hopefully they will let me get just 2! I really only want 1! Would be nice to get an olive egger and maybe a Buff Orpington since my kids have been asking for one. 😊

Call them and ask! Do you live near Lebanon? I’ve been there to pick up an order, but I follow them on Facebook and they are often announcing sales on excess chicks…

They say they have less variety and availability on those days, which is to be expected. Actually, I'm sure they would have several that we would want though! They hatch in such large numbers and breeds. I was astounded at what they had the last time I was there. I live a little over 2 hrs. away from them. I will follow their FB page. I cant beleive I didnt think of that. Lol Thanks!

Do you have poultry swaps in your area? I live in SW area, Barton County and follow 2 swaps on FB. People are always offering chicks, or people often ask for breeds they want, in poultry, goats etc. Or try craigslist.
 
Good tips. I did remember a lady close by on a Craigslist add last year. I'll have to check that again. It's just you're very limited on finding pullets from local people. Thank you!
