calling any one from missouri

Since we seem to be doing intros....

I'm a few miles south of Jefferson City, and I've got EEs, Barred Rocks, and Production Reds. One kid has d'Uccles, and the other has polish bantams. I'm about to try incubating some d'uccle eggs, so we may have more d'uccles in a month. The polish aren't old enough to lay eggs yet.

hey all, I may have found an organic grain mill to supply those of us wanting corn/soy/gmo free grains to make our own feed. Has anyone else heard of this place in Missouri? http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/buy_oat_groats_hulled_dehulled_whole_organic_oats.aspx
I'd be happy to split the cost if anyone else in or near SW Mo wants to purchase with me-- I don't have any particular feed recipe yet, but I'm seriously looking at the oat groats, red wheat, chia seeds, rye, millet, amaranth...
"thedragonlady" on the buff orpington thread has a recipe, I think it is 3 parts oats, 3 parts scratch, and one part calf manna, soaks the entire mixture overnight.....contact her by private message to see if my memory is still working.

I have a mixture of hens right now 4 Wellsummer, 2 Jersey giants, 2 Red sexlinks, 1 black austrolorp (that i am hoping is just hiding from me right it is more of a pet than anything) just got my son a speckled maran and we have 10, 2 month old barnyard bantams. Oh and we cannot forget about Fabio our big roo. He is beautiful. Love my birds.

I have Pearl Gray, Lavender,Porcelain and white, but not sure how they paired up. so who knoww waht will come out of the eggs. This is my first time doing any of this and working with an incubator but will keep in contact with you and let you know

Unlike everyone else. I am on the northern border of Mo. About dead center in the state. Which sucks for me cuz I am around nobody or any swaps. 3-5 hr drive for a swap wouldn't even pay unless I could sell like 40 birds at least. Just to cover gas. And most Auction houses that used to sell poultry locally stopped or shut down.

Got invited to a swap this coming weekend but 5 hr drive can't justify it. Thats 1 way.

BTW I am between Bethany and Kirksville, middle of nowhere.
