calling any one from missouri

I haven't been able to keep many eggs in my refrigerator. We raised our price from $3.50/dozen to $4.50/dozen, and still can't keep up with an average of 14 eggs a day. But next year I'm planning on expanding and going after real Jersey Giants. Mainly because they look awesome. LOL

I'm here in Hillsboro, MO! We started out with seven chicks and now have five due to foxes we think.... No more all day free range for my chicks, my hubby and I built a small enclosure for their safety and my sanity!

Put up a Game camera to see whats coming around. I thought foxes were my only problem, and soon found out it was lots of coons

Hello Hillsboro! We are in Cedar Hill. Our main culprits have been coons. We also have possum, skunks, hawks & owls that think chicken is mighty tasty!

I ran an electric fence, two strands high, around the outside of my fence to keep the ground predators at bay. Total cost was less than $200 and I can rest knowing they should remain safe while locked up in their run and coop.

Hi.....Ste. Genevieve here! Although I grew up in Kirkwood. I have Speckled Sussex, Barnevelders, Australorps and Bourbon Red & Slate turkeys.

Thanks for the welcome. ...but I've been on BYC for awhile. Usually hang out on the turkey thread. Anybody near Ste. Genevieve?
