calling any one from missouri

Just sell the chicks for 2-4 dollars straight run on Craigslist the first week it will buy a bag of feed, and you won't have to deal with the chicks.

Hello! We are moving to Missouri next month. We purchased a 20 acre property north on Cabool. I'll be looking for a few easter Eggers and ducks soon. I currently have chickens and love them!

Gasp! And have the babies potentially become snake food!

I know, all kidding aside. I know from the get go that all the cockerels will have to go. I will keep the pullets though. Usually I put a sign up and the Amish show up to see what I have. They like the cockerels to use as breeders for their own flocks. I can accept them going to feed humans but I have to admit I have a hard time with Craigslist due to past bad juju with the site.

We came home today from a bike ride. Little Miss Aggie has her fluffy butt parked on 5 eggs. I threw up the white flag and conceded defeat. She looks so happy'

Hi & welcome to MO! I recently moved here as well. I purchased a small property in the tiny, rural town of Couch on Sept. 1st and I absolutely love it here :love I finally feel at home. I got my first chicken in November and am up to 11 now! I have another 26 baby chicks coming this coming week, lol :yiipchick. I ordered 20 Black Austrolorp pullets, 5 straight run and will get a "free" random exotic chicken. I'm. Hoping for at least 22 pullets and no more than 4 cockerels. I'm planning on sharing about half of them with my pastor & his family (their Valentine's Day gift). They recently bought the property next to me :thumbsup. Our church is just across the road and we are one happy family. Depending on the outcome with these chicks as well as the Lavender Ameraucana eggs I hope to get & hatch, I may have some swapping stock. Cabool isn't too far. I do a LOT of my shopping up in West Plains. I'll be watching for your posts on here and you can always message me if you'd like :D. Take care and enjoy MO!

I will in about 3 to 4 months. I just purchased 6 cockerels from Greenfire Farms. I will only keep 2.
sounds good. That will give me time to rehome to people who just want eggs my two groups and clean before my new chicks go outside. Have you tested for mycoplasma? According to the AG guy for Missouri 70-90% of our backyard flocks have it and don't know. If I clean out and start again I will only bring in an older bird if I know it is clean.

No, I have not tested for Mycoplasma. I've had my flocks for over a year and thankfully I've not lost any adult chickens and none of my birds have shown any signs. I'm NPIP.

Laying hens. If anyone knows someone I live near Joplin and have two groups of hens that I will sell for a good price to a closed flock backyard type home. They are good layers and well now, but since I want to breed and they will remain carriers I would like to see them get a home where they can live and lay eggs. 4rir, 2 Barred Rocks and 1 EE started laying in Nov. and Dec.
5 point of lay 3- EE (green am over rir), and 2 Sapphire (blue clb over Leghorn)
