calling any one from missouri

Sounding off from Blue Springs Mo! Where we are not allowed to have chickens, or quail, or pheasants, or livestock, or anything remotely resembling self-sufficiency, or any fun... I need to move.  One day I will find my happy place, and live the life I want to live.

So, yeah... Hello from BSMO!
:welcome Join us chat and learn. I hope your dream comes true soon. Just south of Joplin. :frow

Hi from Macon County in North East Missouri.

Are you sure you aren't in the peoples republic of Illinois where we used to live before we fled to the land of milk and honey?

We weren't allowed to have any fun there either......just pay high taxes to the great state of Chicago which we didn't live anywhere close to.

Does everyone here really know how lucky you are to live in Missouri?

We need to be reminded, thank you.

I love Missouri, but I happen to live in one of few cities that has strict limitations on what you can and can't do with your own property. I do count myself lucky to live in Missouri, just not in Blue Springs!

I like it here - except when it approaches or exceeds 100F with high humidity and no breeze.

Born here and have lived here all but about 6 years.

I had a lengthy year long battle to continue to keep chickens that have been here for many years when no one was aware they were here - hence 'no nuisance'.
Not until there was a newspaper article about my endeavor did the Mayor hit the roof.

Research shows that the smaller or poorer the community, the less likely poultry will be allowed.
93 of the 100 largest cities in the US allow chickens. In our county most of the poor cities disallow them, most of the richest have no restrictions.
