Hey folks. We live in Excelsior Springs MO. Just outside Kansas City MO (north of the river). We are raising heritage Rhode island reds, and are hatching Breese eggs as we speak.

I'm happy to see a thread of Missouri folks. We plan to attend the Poultry show in Sedalia MO this summer. Maybe we can set up a meetup or something.

They have a show in August at the state Fair, and I think one in October at a swap meet thing. I'll check and let you know.

What I'm seeing online, if these are correct, is that the MO state fair in Sedalia will be 10 -20th August, and Springfield's Ozark Empire Fair is July 27th thru Aug 5.
An interesting event in April that I don't want to miss is a consignment auction held by the old order Mennonites in Rich Hill. They sell horse drawn equipment, tools, horses, poultry, goats, etc. It looks like it will be held April 21-22. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/auctionview.cgi?lid=2858000

I sure will, after my research I could not pass up the opertunity to buy Greenfield genetics for $36 a dozen for hatching eggs.

Greenfield genetics... is that Greenfield Farms? Have you heard of Bresse Farms? I'm wondering what's the best? Investing a lot of money into this breed... I want to make sure we get the best.
