calling any one from missouri

Hello from Kansas City! I wanted to give the good folks here on BYC a crack at these 6 week old cockerels before they end up on Craigslist, but I have 3 Cochins from Ideal Poultry that will need rehoming soon. If it weren't for the ordinances I would love to keep these sweet boys, pretty as they are. Thank you!

Pretty boys, can't have roos here in Independence either. That's why I ordered pullets and hope I don't get a 10% chance of a roo. Good luck

It's a work outside 20 min come back in the ac 20 min to cool off, the breeze is helping but working in the sun. Trying to at least get the siding on my coop today only a few more pieces to go. Then I can measure for what I need for trim pieces and exterior frames for the doors and windows. Makes one appreciate having an inside job and not having to work out in the heat all day.

Baby chicks are doing well already getting baby feathers. No pasty butts, I put grit in the brooder to start with and nutra drench in their water. The EE's seem to be the calmest and like attention more than the rocks and the aussie. One rock is a little smaller but she is eating, drinking and running around so I'm sure she is OK

MO peeps--
There is an interesting thread going for those in the eclipse path...if you are one of the lucky ones, you may want to join in the discussion. My DH and myself will take a 2 hour drive north that day, just happy we can experience this in our lifetime....

Thanks SueT, I am in Cedar Hill, MO We are right in the path! I'm a teacher and our district will be in session. They plan to have the kids outside {with safety glasses} am a bit worried about kids that don't follow directions!

I'll be stuck at work in a downtown Kansas City Building, at least we do have some windows but I'm not very close to any.

Make sure you have safety {eclipse} glasses!

Have not been able to get on BYC much as my computer is dying and my phone is not that good with BYC {user error, I'm sure!}. New computer was suppose to arrive yesterday, but didn't. Am on hubby's laptop at the moment.

As I just wrote on the eclipse thread, we were in Booneville yesterday, talking to a worker at the Katy Trail Visitor Center. They are very close to the blue line, and she's been told by state park officials to brace for the 'equivalent of a natural disaster' and that I 70 could be at a standstill. Of course, no one knows for sure. And it could be cloudy....
Good luck with the kids and keeping them safe, this will definitely be a teachable moment!!

The Ozark Empire Fair, which begins this week, has their poultry show Aug 4 and 5. I always enjoy going to see the chickens.
Are there any of you BYC people showing your birds there this year? If so, what kind?
