calling any one from missouri

Hi there my sister in law lives in Pine City/ Minnesota. I'll see what I can do for you. She's more of a sister than an in law ,& she collects stuff & knows people :frow

We had 5º this morning, no snow here in Barton county. Chickens are out and about.....I gave them some warmed fermented feed....
Welcome new members, maybe we can get more of a conversation going on this thread!
Did anyone get below zero yet? I read all the threads from far north BYC members, and it makes me feel much better about our weather here in MO.

hello! I was in the the wrong MO thread apparently. Lol
We are currently an hour east of KCMO. BUT, we're building our house near family on the east side. I'm very excited to start this new journey. I want to get chickens, maybe guineas, rabbits, a few goats, a donkey, couple ducks and a goose. It'll take a while. But I've been waiting for this for 13 yrs, what's a few more months? Lol Y'all are so friendly! Thanks for being a great bunch!!

Hi Kymberli and welcome to BYC!

You can do it. I know I had waited a very long time to have the chickens I've always yearned for. I retired and moved to Missouri from California. Took another year before I was ready to get my chickens and I've never been happier.

Take your time so that you'll have a completed coop and run for them. Read up on everything you can. If you get chicks/chickens from more than one source you will want to quarantine them to prevent possible spread of illness.

It's below zero another morning in Barton County....My chickens did fine yesterday with a high around 10. Now for the warm up. above 20 is going to seem warm!
