Those are single sightings more than 24 hours old ... I think.... not certain on the hours... but it’s something like that

Just realized I showed West Plains earlier... but you’re in the Poplar Bluff area...

... apparently everything south of Eminence is all the same to me, lol

Here’s a blue one in your area I clicked on:

Oh I like that one! I don’t think we have a solid one in that shade.

We have a few more colors that haven’t bloomed yet I think... but the last few days it’s been more blooms of ones that have already bloomed.

When we came home from town the other day I took one of many “back way”s and at the start of that road is an old homestead ( no house any more) that had a bunch of pale, sorta antique yellow iris along the road, and scattered under the big post oaks where the house once was...

Then every house on that road had a bunch of that same color.... so I guess now I’m probably gonna go knocking on a door to trade some iris, because we don’t have that color...lol

It is kind of sad when you see that isn't it.
I always wonder about who lived there and planted them.
They come back again and again long after we are long gone.

Oh I don’t know... I’ve stomped around a lot of old forgotten places in the past... I like seeing all those old strains of flowers just doing their thing whether anyone is there to notice or not... it never really makes me sad....

... what makes me sad is when some knuckledhead that thinks history started with them, moves out of the city and bulldozes an old place like that and “improves” it with a big gaudy house and all the accompanying noise and nonsense...

... but they tell me it’s progress so... :idunno

Edit... sorry for the little mini rant... lol

I guess that's the sad part. .knowing eventually every thing will fade away like we never existed.
I drive by houses in my town where people I've known all my life have passed on or gone to the nursing home. .
And sometimes I can picture the landscape of how it used to look. .before someone else moved in and just mows everything to the dirt. Never knowing or caring about what lies beneath the surface. . and all the time and effort that went into tending the roses.

Ahh yeah... I get you now... a lot of the old places I was thinking of have been empty since the 50s or before when families moved to town... so I just always knew them as they I found them...

But yeah it kinda breaks your heart to see that when you knew the people...

... I go by an old place all the time and still look for Mrs. Sander’ guineas ... she passed 30 years ago.... but somehow I still expect to see those birds!

Even if I didn't know them personally. . it's a little ghostly when you see where a house was leveled. . and in the spring up pops the Easter lilies in a line where the walk way used to be. .you know someone planted them there and it used to be someone's home.
