6 weeks ago I told the hubs I wanted to start slow with about 10 chickens and see how it went.

We now have 37 chickens, 4 ducks and 5 turkey.

Ohhhhhhh so this is Chicken Math!!!!

We started with 7 little mutts we hatched from a dozen a friend gave us. This was a bad lesson is predator proofing the coop, as we lost them all. I then hatched 11 of 12 last yr in June. I have 7 hens and one roo still. My roo is full RIR and my hens are Americana, BO, barred rock mix. I was gifted a WC blue Polish and fell in love with the Polish. I now have 10 mixed babies that just went to the Coop Nursery, 23 Tolbunts in the bator, 6 Frizzle Polish in another bator, and more Tolbunts on the way!
Is that Chicken Math also? LOL

chicken math gets you ever time!

I started out 4 yrs ago with about 10 chickens and slowly went up to 30 real fast. Know I curently have 16 adult chickens, 2 geese, 7 call ducks and tri or rouens. And probably close to 60 chicks and ducklings at the moment. Oh forgot about the 14 meat birds I have growing out.

And a bator almost full of eggs

If anyone needs some chicks just let me know I can help with your chicken math also!

Hmm ahhhh yeah, chicken math isn't just for chickens anymore......

Geese, turkeys, scovys, guineas

had a hatch of chickens and turkey all ready.
Eggs brooding or yet to be set.......
2 dozen EE and CCM's.
2dozen BA and BA/BO's
1 1/2 dozen guinea
12 scovy nests from started laying to ready to hatch (I can't count that high, not enough fingers and toes!)
Dozen CCLBs
8 FBCM's
8 Bourbon Reds be here tommorow
30 BLK, Blue, SPL Ameraucanas and Marans and Wheaten Marans coming next week or so.
and then Sulmtalers in a monthish.

Lets not talk about the farm cats.

And the pyranese I really want a litter out of isn't cooperating.

But I did sell off a trio of SLW and a Quad of layers to make room for them....

I plan on getting meat birds at some point again this year, and would like a couple of turkeys...and maybe some ducks or geese...and quail....But first I have to build the coop for the 26 additional layers I'm growing out.

(And I have five dogs and four to seven cats....)

I cant get anymore layers till I find some buyers for my eggs! My cardiologist has limited me to 3 eggs a week, yeah right Doc.....lol

Yeah, I have turkey eggs in the bator for meat and to keep a few also. These are for my son or atleast what I will tell him.

I just got done moving more chicks outside that are ready to be weaned the rest of the way from heat. Chicken math with me is like cow math with my husband.

Between the two of us it gets a little hecktick at times but its all good. Just need to sell some more of my culls so I can get some more of what I think I want, quail, SFH, CCLB's, and some more marans and maybe some breese. To many choices out there anymore.
