In Springfield. I have seven hens and wanting to add a flock of meat chickens now.

Are you thinking of dual purpose birds or something like cornish crosses just to grow out and butcher?
Around here.... extra roos end up in freezer camp........

Unlike everyone else. I am on the northern border of Mo. About dead center in the state. Which sucks for me cuz I am around nobody or any swaps. 3-5 hr drive for a swap wouldn't even pay unless I could sell like 40 birds at least. Just to cover gas. And most Auction houses that used to sell poultry locally stopped or shut down.

Got invited to a swap this coming weekend but 5 hr drive can't justify it. Thats 1 way.

BTW I am between Bethany and Kirksville, middle of nowhere.

I grew up around Macon/Kirksville but not sure where Bethany is (I grew up around Bethel - Home of the Sheep Fest). There's a swap around Rutledge but I don't remember the dates.
