calling any one from missouri

Ohhh and if not eating - look into tube feeding baby parrot food. You'll have to do a search on the how to's tho.

Hope he's hanging in there. They can recover from some pretty gruesome injuries. Scalping looks horrible but puncture wounds with internal bleeding, shock and refusing to eat can also take them down. Good luck@

He is hanging in but don't think he has eaten anything yet maybe today. Where I live in warsaw won't be able to find the parrot feeding tube so hope he will start eating soon thanks for caring

It's official our broody hen is now the proud (and protective) mama for three new chicks. We are introducing two new breeds to our flock, an Australorp, and two Ameracaunas. We had her brood over wooden eggs and introduced chicks from Estes Hatchery here in Springfield MO. So far it's been great the broody was so excited to have them, and she is finally eating drinking and cleaning herself! She still isn't leaving the coop choosing instead to teach the new chicks. It's been great seeing her teach them to eat, drink, preen, and scratch. Yesterday they got a slice of plumb... Mama ate most of it, but she broke up some into chick sized pieces and encouraged the chicks to try it... They did and they loved it!

Well I'm just silly. I'm all excited because I stumbled across Jacob's Cave yesterday. It's right down the road from our lake house! I had no idea where it was and now I can't wait for a swap to go check out. My fiance can stay at the house and not give me grief while I'm there! Yay!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone in or around the St.Louis area might have some hatching Olive Egger eggs for sale? I want that nice dark green egg. :) No hatcheries please.....private breeders only. Thanks, Dana

Hi Eden just wanted to let you she is still hanging in there and she drank water today so I think that is a good sign. She also laid an egg this morning could not believe that, Now I am sure she was on a nest when the dog got her, but I have hope she will recover but will take a long time, she walk a little also I know she is still in pain but every day she gets a little stronger.

Next one is October. so make your plans

I just drove past Jacob's Cave half-dozen times in the past month because oldest son was near Laurie, at Camp Hohn Boy Scout Camp. If he expects me to come get him every weekend when he's working next summer, he's going to have to chip in for some gas money. Although it will be peaceful at home since he won't be fighting with younger brother. LOL
