calling any one from missouri

I'm starting work March 17th in STL, hopefully I'll find a house sometime around mid April? Looking now. Seems like you have to buy a permit for almost anywhere, which kinda sucks (they seem expensive- $150+ inspections that are $75 each year? ) I've been spoiled here in Wichita you can have up to 12 with a permit, and the permit is only $20 or so.

Hi I'm new to BYC and chicken raising! In Kansas City north area and looking for a local source for organic chick feed and layer feed. Any suggestions? Anyone else in KC north area? Looks like a great site, look forward to learning lots!!

Good morning, I am north also and trying to make it through the last of the winter. I go to Kearney and Liberty for feed, I have a desire to be non-medicated but I do not check labels for organic. Let me know what you find. What breeds are you raising? My first incubator in 20 years is going strong in the basement and I have 7 chicks I am trying to keep alive in the garage though this last of the bitter cold !!!!!!!!

We live in Lawson, MO but we are closer to Excelsior Springs, just north of Liberty. Welcome, we use BYC all the time. We have 15 hens and 4 roosters, but I am not organic. Does Orschlens carry? There is one in Kearney, Kearney all has Kearney feed store.

Thanks Southerlys. I currently have 8, really don't want to get rid of any. I actually wanted to get a couple more, maybe next year. I'm leaning towards Tower Grove because U City sounds like a big hassle to have chickens (which sucks, they really are super easy to take care of.) I have 4 neighbors that touch our property here in Wichita and only 1 of them knew I had chickens!
