Ameraucanas, just make sure they are really pure ameraucanas. There are a lot of people selling mutts or Easter Eggers for ameraucanas. Here is a link, hopefully it works.

The weird egg I posted earlier, almost all yolk when hard boiled and feel like rubber.

I think that I might be too...
1) mostly yolk and that's my least favorite part (I eat equal yellow/white when I do eat boiled eggs;I usually devil them)
2) When things don't look right, we have a hard time mentally with trying it (think black skinned silkies and purple potatoes)
& 3) If it doesn't look right, why? and will it affect the chicken laying it? (is it bacterial/viral/ other communiciable problem)

I am looking for someone willing to care for my chickens in my area for future vacations. Is anyone in the overland park, KS area?

All I would expect is food, water, let them out in am, lock them up in pm, and gather eggs (that you could keep!)

Sorry I am about an hour away, but I use to work in Lenexa, familiar with the area. They allow you to have chickens in Overland Park! I'm in shock...

great idea but I am 47 minutes away from Merriam and mapQuest estimated fuel cost at $12 one way, hope you find someone nearer.
