My hens are enjoying the rain and bugs !!! More than I, It looks like its mowing season

Lost one of my Bantams last night not sure what happened. Checked them before I went to bed and they were all up and movin just fine

Can a bad storm freak chicks out to the point that it could kill them?

I doubt it. I think it has been storming when there were chicks for quite some time - like a few hundred thousand years. If they did die from getting freaked out at some point, that gene pool died out.

It can - but I've had preds hit both nights we've had storms. Lost over a dozen now and it's WAR1

Mine aren't outside yet. Am still working on thier coop. Have them with heat clean food and water. I figured maybe she just wasn't as healthy as the rest.

Thunder and lightening can startle them - they can dogpile and bottom ones can die.
