Hey, are there any of you that are within 30 minutes of Columbia or Jefferson City?

Any of you have any hatching eggs?

If so what type?

I'm SO into variety!

I have some in the incubator from a swap now that are looking iffy, but it is only day 5, so I'll give it more time before I consider them duds.....But if they are duds I'm gonna need some more eggs!
Shh, don't tell my husband! He said no more buying chickens this year, but nothing about buying fertile eggs!

i think there is a swap in silex next weekend. i'm gonna try to make it if i can. i think it is called the river hills farmer's market if you look for it on google. i have plenty of eggs if you were wanting to hatch your own. i sell them for $1 a dozen, you can hatch em or eat em.

i'm up by mark twain lake and i've got plenty of eggs. they are all mixed chickens so no two look alike. if you're after purebreds, you don't want mine. 1/4 brown leghorn, 3/4 ?

Tedzilla -

I am about 30 minutes from you in Jefferson City. I have seperated my Black Jersey Giants, Giant Partridge Cochins and Cuckoo Marans. I should ahve all the rest seperated in about 2 weeks. Let me know if I can help you out.

Hold on to your horses Sheila!!! LOL I had a long 3 days here!

Ok, Poultry swap....NOT JUST POULTRY!

They had chickens, a lot of production reds a few house birds parakeets, etc budgiaries. Pygmy goats, boar goats, rabbits, dogs, turkeys.

DD sold most of her extra birds but it was nasty! misty rain then it poured. We got a bunch of grey call ducks pretty cheap I think.

I was not totally impressed but I think it was because of the weather. I think the weather staved off a lot of people. I would go back. there was only like 20 different people selling stuff.

NOW the poultry show.

DD did great! She got a class Champion for lightweight goose and reserve champ too. Same with the pilgrim geese. then a bunch of 1st and BV and BB and RV and RB with her pekins and calls. She only had 2 disqualified because of wrong color and her barred cochin had a bit of a crest(too much blowdrying maybe) Her frizzles did 1 and 2nds. Only thing she got less than 3rd place was her pekins and that was because she brought 5, she got 1, 2,3, 4,5 places. I was so proud of her.

Bad thing was her speckled sussex and her 2 black wyandotte bantams got stolen. URGH!! PEOPLE really!!!
