Just starting research on setting up a chicken coop. I am in the KC area.

Welcome!! I'm in Independence. Am usually on here more often but life has been insane the past few weeks.

HI all!! I've been letting my little flock out when time and weather permit and I'm outside, they seem to enjoy exploring the yard and have been devouring tons of creeping Charlie that I have tossed in for them. I HATE that stuff. I have a 4 day weekend so it's work in the yard time until the cold hits again tomorrow. Had to grab a late lunch so checking in here. So back to work.

LOL they are calling for maybe snow or ice this weekend.. Sheesh..

We are having a bit better weather here in SEMO, tonight low of 45°F then 50's to 70's the next few days with a chance of rain again.

Could we have had the last frost? I planted a few warm weather plants in garden....not many....in case I have to cover them up. The lettuces, spinach, chard have been started last week and week before and are hanging in there, but I don't think I gained anything by planting them early. .

I haven't planted anything yet but looking at the weather if I don't get plants in the ground today it will be a week or better before I can walk in the garden with all the rain we are supposed to get.

I haven't planted anything in the garden yet either. I'm just not confident that the freezing temps are gone yet.

We don't have any freezing temps in the forecast but more rain... rained all day yesterday and raining now. Some of the pullets just stayed inside on the roost part of the day.
