calling any one from missouri

Thanks, my neighbor has a couple Great Pyrenees and they are huge! Pretty friendly dogs and only chase chickens and cats every now and then. I don't think either one was raised with chickens from the get go.

Even Pyrs tend to have some issue with poultry - just so darn much fun to chase! Especially young ones. Other breeds with stronger prey drive - even worse. I have 3, 2 pyr girls and mixed LGD male. Save a fortune not having to build fort knox to keep predators out. Being big dogs tend to make the ill intentioned move along too - with little real chance of getting savaged just walking on the place. Mess with me or the critters believe that would change in a heartbeat................ Can't beat a good LGD!

Hello! I am fairly new around here and just discovered the state threads, so I figured I should check in! I recently moved to Ozark, and I am building my backyard flock. I picked up five australorps and five barred rocks from the Nixa TSC on April 12th. I have had chickens before, but this is my first experience with chicks.

Sometime in the not so distant future I'd like to add a couple of copper marans, some buff bramas, and some true araucanas... If I figure in chicken math I guess I wouldn't mind a couple of cream legbars and some cochins too.

We made a trip to Springfield for errands. It was my 67th birthday so we went out to eat at the Lebanese restaurant on historic C Street. It's an interesting area to walk around in, all kinds of shops to explore.
On the way back we stopped in Mt. Vernon to see Estes Hatchery's new location. They are up and running in a big metal building north of town. They said they aren't completely set up but have all new incubators and and are hatching. The store area had lots of empty shelves still. They said they'd be having displays w chicks, and a lot more products available. There's a big old boat out front. The owner said he's going to get a big metal rooster and put in on the deck of the boat, and this will be visible from I 44. I asked what happened to the piano on the porch of their old location. He said, it's still there, we haven't moved everything yet.
We didn't buy any chicks.
@MotherOfPeepPeeps welcome to MO thread!

Cackle Hatchery is located in Lebanon Mo, I wish it wasn't so far from me...
