calling any one from missouri

I have not ever tried Cackle Hatchery yet. Have you bought from them before? Did you have good luck with them?
I got my Spitzhaubens from Cackle. We drove there and picked them up. I ordered 4, they gave me 5, they let us pick up a day early. I like Cackle' s selection and their customer service. You can see videos on their website of the inner workings of their business.

That looks so awesome! I don't currently have room for so many, but it is definitely a new goal for the future!
:D
There is an older thread dedicated to that package, some people have gotten goslings and the pics are adorable. I would be happy with all chicks but a keet, duck or poult in the mix would def make me very happy. I am very very tempted to get it this year, My little sister actually told me she would order and have it sent to me just because she wants to see it but she doesnt want to have to take care of them lol I dont have proper housing for that many birds but I bet I could figure something out, I have the land to throw a couple pens up.

A blueberry mango sunset tonight...

Today was integration day! I took down all dividers between the 12 week old Spitzhaubens and the rest of the flock. And it was basically a non event. The others didn't attack them, they largely ignored them. And I had so worried about this day. Of course the 2 mean hens are wearing their blinders....

View attachment 1356783 btw I'm giving away one of the Spitzhauben cockerels....any of you who live within meeting distance are welcome to him.

Adorable!! Definitely don't need a roo. My roo finally went to his new home yesterday!! WOOPIE!! My city neighbors I'm sure will appreciate him not crowing all day and since 90 yo neighbor died recently her house will be on the market I think next week. Wondering how my girls will adapt to him being gone.

Loving this nicer weather, finally a nice weekend. Have to run for chicken feed this am and some feed for me ;). Then back out to working in the yard. My chickens took over a raised bed I was trying to dig up--it's about 1/2 done, they were in my way to finish it. One snatched a worm through the fence and in a minute they were all in there after the worms and hopefully they most ate the cutworms.

Hoping my girls settle down well with no roo and go back to being really friendly. He was so protective he would attack me sometimes if I picked up one of the girls. I think he will do well in his new home as they are able to free range over about an acre or more and has 9 girls to keep him happy. Protective will be good.

My pullets didn't even know Henry was gone... they had their own pecking order.
