My hens seemed to be doing just fine yesterday without the bossy roo. I let them putter around in the yard much of the day. I haven't quite figured out who head hen is as MR Roo bossed them all around. I did resist picking up a couple new chicks at Orscheln's yesterday, am planning on adding a couple next year.

there were pics posted the other day from south eastern mo of a big handful of mushrooms that where found just the other day. its exciting to know they are over here in sw mo now.

Non chicken related question:

Do any of y'all know anyone who has red New Zealand rabbits, or any other not-white, non Flemish Giant meat rabbits? Whatever kind I end up with I'd like purebred and nice quality because they will end up being my niece's 4H project.

*edit - I also wouldn't mind finding a pair of French Angoras, too.

Some friends have been posting them from down around Truman lake that they have found this week.

About an hour ago, 2 fighter jets flew LOW over our farm! I raced outside when I heard the screaming roar, and saw them. They may be from Whiteman AFB.

We just had some very heavy rain, but it only lasted a few minutes so far. Radar shows some heavy rain to the west of me.
