Ok What's the deal?? My bad little chickens have all of a sudden stopped laying my eggs... I am only getting half the eggs I was.
Usual is about 12-13 a day I have 16 hens(not counting new additions.)
I give them the right food,water, not to mention even scraps. Free range and oyster shell and grit.
I would think that them running around free range would benifit them more, right becuase they eat bugs and whatnot. One even caught a small lizard. Is this because of spring????
My friend only got 4 eggs today and her usual is about 8-9 a day.
ours are a year old(March 08 babies)
Please help I know some of you are professional chicken farmers

Thanks Fudgie for the information. I was thinking the entertainment was probably the main thing. I'm thinking that after I get used to being a chicken mommy, I may have to try the pygmy goat route. Thanks again.

Thanks for tellin me.I got 10eggs today. I was getting worried about my brats.lol.
My friend told me about her new Nigerian boys,they are only like 10wks and one is trying to mate with her female already.
I am going to keep on your post of your goats, I agree that's next on my list
My DH keeps telling me to be paitent,it's sooo hard. I also discovered mini nubians. can't wait. i will try to hit the next thing in Sedalia too,congrats on your daughter winning all those ribbons.
Does she also do 4-H?? i would love for my son to do that.

I have many hobbies but these are the top three in order:

1. Chickens
2. Scrapbooking
3. Quilting or gardening (can't decide) but since both are mostly seasonal I guess both the same
