Okay since we have such cute little pics to go with the conversation. I have some goat questions. My son is allergic to cow's milk (not lactose intolerant). I don't know if he is allergic to goats milk, but if i try him and he is not, we may consider a milk goat.

Now to explain the background, we had 2 milk goats when I was in junior high. I know how to milk and such, but my question is...........are some breed's milk stronger (more goaty tasing and smelling) than other breed's milk would be. I have heard some is better for cheese and such. The reason I ask, is that the milk we got from our goats, Mom and I could not stomach. Smelled like a goat tasted like a goat etc. We did not have any buck around so that couldn't have been the problem. Any suggestiions, reccomendations on breeds.......

WAAAAH!
I accidentally killed my white japanese bantam pullet. I was moving the portable grower coop, and there was a divot in the ground and instead of moving forward with the coop run her short little legs made her go under neath the coop! I turned around and saw my son picking her limp body up and the silkie also who also had gone under. So I ran over them, and she got her neck broke. *Sob*

WAAH!

And now my poor little white japanese bantam cockerel is a widower, so I might as well sell him now that he has no mate. Sigh. I feel so terrible knowing if I had paid more attention I could have prevented this. Anyone have a widowed japanese bantam? See the 'for sale' section.

WAAAAAAAH!

And she was such a pretty, sweet little pullet, I'll never get to see the babies they would have had.

just remember accidents do happen. It will work out okay. If I had a replacement, I would send you one, but only have large fowl.

I am sorry to hear the bad news,
but on a happier note I have a small female japanese bantam(Milly) if you are interested. I got 28 new babies, and I am overrun with chickens now. She is 1yr.1mos. and lays an egg everyday. I think ....
