The hatcheries I have been to, Cackle and Estes, don't let you past the front sales room, due to biosecurity......
Over the years, we have gone to auctions in this area....

Yes I can definitely understand that. I did see a video, may have been cackle, that pretty much did a walk through on each step from egg to post office. Amazing to see that amount of eggs and chicks!

how far are you from Cackle? It was a LONG drive from here....I got my Spitzhaubens there last Feb.

Yea, just when I thought about taking out the winter water bucket with the heater and putting in the summer one I saw 15°F night time temps... and spring is what a couple of weeks from now?

I need to get my shed conversion to a coop done so I can go to Cackle and pick up some Cinnamon Queens.

I'm thinking it's about 3 hours from us here in SEMO. My poor husband made a 3 hour trip one way with me to get my Cochins, he won't be doing that long of a chicken run again any time soon lol

Now it's sustained 30 mph, gusting to 60! My rooster is blowing sideways when he tries to walk!
