calling any one from missouri

Not the drake, but my duckling customer came and paid what I asked plus a tip for sending her pics and videos along the way of the eggs development :love
Very nice of her. She is in love with it already. :love
Fun day. :)
It was really adorable and so tiny, I've never seen a call duckling before.
Did you see anyone sell any of their chickens? I didn't feel hopeful about going to sell mine there. People had cages full of identical hens. Mine are special. Like yours they have names, personalities, stories. I thought of the story of the Little Prince and his rose....

I saw several people sell baby chicks but not adults. But I didn't pay a lot of attention either.
I did get insulted while I was there.. .
A lady came over and acted real interested in my drake, but she said he was "a pound and a half too big" she claims to have class a calls
I weighed him when I got home. 1 pound 10.4 Ounces.
So she wants her calls to be 2.4 ounces?
Whatever. I told her Yep I'm aware mine are pet quality.

More signs of spring here!

I just heard an Eastern Phoebe outside... these are the birds that show up every spring to build mud and moss nests on porch lights or above the windows, etc. ...

Also, we have a pair of Carolina Wrens building a nest in a clock house I built for them.... it's kind of fun to see them come in and out of the top opening like little cuckoo birds.... I'll have to try and get a picture of one of them in action.

I luv this!!!

I put up a little platform over the laundry room window last spring and convinced Mr and Mrs Phoebe to shack up on it, rather than the porch light... but I took it down at the end of summer when I installed new windows... guess I better get it back up before they start construction!
