Also this is what happens when you let your winter bird friends plant their favorite food ( sun flowers) and then your yard deer momma spends the night in the yard... headless sunflowers...

Caught the sunflower eater on camera this morning... with her accomplice... not the best pics since it’s a phone camera...

She stashed that little one on the west side of the house last night right at dark and then went back to the east side, the way she came ... and did so with real purpose making me think she might have two...

... and then this morning she went and collected this one from the west side and took it back on the east side...

... but so far I’ve only seen her with one at a time... so we’ll have to wait and see how many she has...

Are yours real orange?

Mine are rather pale... I always want them oranger... more like the common “ditch lilies” ... but these are more salmon colored...

...that pic had the sun coming through them so they look a bit more orange...

They fixed our washed out road yesterday, and traffic resumed. It was kind of nice to live on a dead end road for 24 hours....
And today, more chance of severe weather resumes...

I have family in that area, and heard there was flooding in Bethany due to 5 inches of rain in 2 hours or something like that.

Lol... I feel that way too when the creek near us is up... although our poor mail lady has to drive around

I live in Bethany. We got 7 inches in less than 2 hours. Flooding everywhere. Several small bridges and culverts washed out. Roads closed everywhere. Radio said rivers crested higher than they did in 93. Luckily no one hurt yet that we've heard. We had a lot of notice it was coming and going to be bad. We closed the store early and everybody got home safe.
