calling any one from missouri

This okra plant has become a tree, taller than me. I have to bend it to pick the pods.

Just catching up...

Had an armored ‘diller plow up my new baby grass that I’ve been watering through this hot dry spell ... so I’m thinking of sitting up for it tonight... but I’m already fading so maybe I won’t make it...

In chicken related news, yesterday I butchered a farm store buff orp cockerel that was terrorizing the girls and beating on our home hatched cockerel ... and also one of the buff pullets is just starting to lay... other than that it’s business as usual in the coop ...which is a good thing ;)

The honeybees here at the house are in full honey making mode from the golden rod that is in bloom now ...so the yard smells a bit like stinky socks depending on the breeze  ...

We had deer in the yard tonight... been a while since we’ve seen them... with the green summer they’ve not relied on our yard as much this year...

I’ve been hearing a whippoorwill call each night... seems very late for that, so I’m guessing he’s an old one that wasn’t up for the trip south.. and will just stay put and call the show me state his final resting spot...

Hope all is well with everyone else!

All right, worm calling is in place lets see if I get to play on the Dune movie... I turned over a grass box added some compost to fill it up to the hardware cloth and then added some paper that went through the shredder then wet that down and added some expired cucumbers bits. So we will see if I need to add a thumper or not...
